My name is Lucas Babin, and I was born and raised in South Louisiana. I grew up in Maringouin, graduated high school from False River Academy in New Roads, and in 1998 then moved to Baton Rouge.  I enrolled at BRCC in 2000 and then in 2005 enrolled in sports massage therapy college.  In 2008, I opened a Snap Fitness location, and 15 years later that business still going strong. I also have my hands in other business ventures as well…BR Mattress Outlet, a catering business, and a lawn care business.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Family is the backbone of my life. I speak with my parents still every day. I am married to my beautiful wife Randi who is the love of my life and together we have a beautiful daughter.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I wake up every morning with a plan.  I love making someone’s day and putting smiles on people’s faces.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Simple Joe on Government St., Superior Grill, Parrain’s Seafood, Walk On’s, and Raising Canes.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived and worked in Baton Rouge for 20 years.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Santorini, Greece. Why? LOL, why not…it’s the most beautiful piece of real estate on earth!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Weekend at Bernie’s, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Dumb and Dumber,  Everybody Loves Raymond, and King of Queens.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
God doesn’t give us what we can handle. God helps us handle what we are given.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I would love to ride in a helicopter.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Superior Grill.  I have been going there since I was my daughter’s age and have become very close with the staff and owners.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
My old neighborhood Ms. Jennifer.  She always has the best stories and she loves Simple Joe’s for lunch.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I live in mid-city and I have this thing about flamingos.  LOL

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Well.. being 43 years old with a young child, I just want to try to be the best dad and husband I can be.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’m a pretty good beatboxer.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been? Why did it make such an impression on you?
Antelope Canyon. God is an amazing Creator and Artist.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and the best single day on the calendar?
I have two days…but my month is December and Christmas is my favorite holiday. My days are Oct 14 which is my anniversary and Dec 1st…the day I became a dad.

Everyone who said I could not accomplish the things I wanted to accomplish.
