I have lived in Baton Rouge all my life and am a hair stylist in the Central City community. For over 5 years, I strived to provide a collective of clients their vision of excellent hair care.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband and I have been happily married since 2019. We both enjoy traveling, cooking, collecting records, and trying great food in the area.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Bedsides starting as a hostess/server at Caliente, I have always been involved in the hair industry. SOHO Boutique Salon was where I began my journey to become a hairstylist. When I finished my apprenticeship and got my certification, I joined the hairstylists at Cer C’are La Pace Salon in Central. Fulfilling each of my client’s visions and building lasting relationships is what I love the most about what I do. There’s nothing more satisfying than hearing a client say “You’ve made me feel beautiful.”

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
My husband and I are obsessed with Asian food. We love Jinya Ramen Bar, Sushi Yama, Tokyo Cafe, Lee’s Asian Fusion and Asahi.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
Baton Rouge born and raised. My part-time and professional work experience has always been here.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
My mother-in-law Connie Etheridge.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Greece. My favorite place is the beach and I can only imagine what it would be like to see the Mediterranean Sea.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A Walk To Remember and The Notebook for movies. Stranger Things and Bloodline for TV Shows.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Always push to be the best you can be.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To travel the world.

Q: What is your go-to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Tame Impala or Upper Room Worship

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Raising canes.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Steffany Gretzinger. She’s an incredible worship artist and has a huge heart for people. Sushi Yama for lunch!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Mid City is a fun part of town. Very artistic and homey.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Excelling in my field and having kids.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I can sing.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been? Why did it make such an impression on you?
Hawaii. I am a beach bum and the views were breathtaking.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and the best single day on the calendar?
December. Christmas. My wedding anniversary.

My friend Madison Annison.

Q: If you stop at the corner gas station, what is the one food item that is begging you to purchase?
Boiled peanuts…… every time!
