Born in Ruston, LA but Baton Rouge has been home since 2000 when I moved here to attend LSU. I’m married to my best friend Angelina and we attend Broadmoor Methodist with our baby girl Annison Marie. I’ve been in banking for almost 10 years and I’m a private banker with Red River Bank.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Married in 2015, Angelina and I had our first child, a daughter, during COVID.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I’m in Private Banking with Louisiana-based Red River Bank. I love that we started in Alexandria and focus on the people of Louisiana. As a lender I help people achieve their dreams and that is the highlight of my career.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Ruth’s Chris, Jasmine’s on the Bayou, Ruffino’s, Philly Me Up, Louie’s, New York Pizza, Carrabba’s, Heads & Tails, Po-Boy Express among others.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
Since I moved here in 2000. My first job was with the LSU vet school while going to LSU.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Governor Mike Foster
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Israel. I’ve always wanted to visit the birthplace of who makes me who I am, Christ.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Top Gun Maverick was the best movie I’ve seen in many years. My favorite TV show will always be Friends. I can still quote most of the episodes.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Let peace be your goal in life. Happiness will be a byproduct but when happiness is the goal, it’s always tied to external factors such as people, jobs, cars, money, homes, etc. Peace is an inner goal and happiness is designed to come from within.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To see LSU play football in every SEC stadium.
Q: What is your go-to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Michael Jackson, Toby Mac, or some jazz.
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
The original Louie’s.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Mike Pompeo former CIA director. I’d want to know all the answers to all the secrets we have. We’d go to Government Taco because he would appreciate the atmosphere.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
We’re the hub of the state. Baton Rouge is home to both our state’s government and to its university. Also the diversity here allows us to help people from different backgrounds.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Looking at the sun-filled sky thanking God for all He has given me. Watching our daughter grow into a pre-teen and falling more in love with my wife every day.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I worked offshore for 5 years and was an extra in a movie and mini-series.
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been? Why did it make such an impression on you?
Tough call. Either Punta Cana, Dominican Republic during the summer or Big Sky, Montana during the winter. The beauty in both places put this kid from Louisiana at a loss for words.
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
Christmas, Christmas, Christmas, December 25th. I really think I’m part elf!
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Showing the kindness we can give to strangers, to our loved ones at home.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
There are several. My wife, my daughter, God, Jesus, my colleagues, my parents, and my siblings. Looking at each of them makes me want to be better tomorrow than I am today.
Q: If you stop at the corner gas station, what is the one food item that is begging you to purchase?
Chips and chocolate. I could live solely off these two items and I love too many to narrow it down to one brand.
