My name is Brittany and I have lived in Baton Rouge since I was 8 years old.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am the 3rd of 8 kids in my family and grew up in a very close-knit loving home.  As a child, my parents raised us to know the Lord, and am thankful for that to this day.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

I am a veteran of the United States Air Force and am currently employed by the United States Postal Service.  My favorite part of my job is doing it right, with a great attitude, and giving God the glory.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

My favorite restaurants in our community are Parrin’s, Mike Anderson’s, and Outback.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

My family has lived in Baton Rouge since I was 8 years old.  I have lived since that point in my life, except for playing college basketball and being in the Air Force.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

I would travel to Israel to see the Bible come alive before my eyes.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

I love Wheel of Fortune…I feel like I am really good a solving the puzzles.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

To seek Jesus.  He loves you and cares about every area of your life.  He created our lives and knows the ins and outs about it.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

Just to travel and enjoy this beautiful world God made.

Q: What is your go-to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?

Not sure I have a favorite here, but I love to listen to KLOVE, it’s encouraging!

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

Fresh Pickins…I remember being younger and going to the fruit stand on Airline Hwy.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

My pastor…and we would go to Parrin’s for lunch!  It would be nice to treat him to lunch and tell him to thank you for being such a good steward of God’s flock.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

I love the way we have festivals for anything and everything here.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

Taking life one day at a time and enjoying every day.  I look forward to some more travel under my belt…and also being much closer to having my house paid off!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

I don’t mind trying new activities; you never know what you may enjoy.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been? Why did it make such an impression on you?

Greece.  It brought to life stories from the Bible.  I realized why a lot of people were fishermen or owned boats.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and the best single day on the calendar?

My favorite day of the year is my birthday.  It is a chance for me to thank God for being here and I want to leave people and places better than I found them.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

Me…but only because of my relationship with Jesus.  I am free to be me.  I give because I can.  I forgive because I am forgiven.  I love because I am loved.  I choose to see the good…all joy this way!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

Jesus…I love the way he can relate to us.  He understands what we are going through and the good news is there is hope for a better tomorrow!

Q: If you stop at the corner gas station, what is the one food item that is begging you to purchase?

I get a Krispy Kreme donut.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

Family, good food, and that Louisiana ‘sweet heat.’
